The weeks of preparation are over, and the crew ships out tomorrow from the Stanton Campus at 12 noon. Everyone is very excited, and I think rather well prepared. It has been a very hectic week, but I think I'm actually ready to go. I have communicated with both of my host families, and am very excited to meet them and learn more about the Danish way of life. I have not had an immersive new adventure in some time, so am very excited. The more I read about Danish culture, the more I am interested to experience it first hand. Any country that is consistently ranked at or near the top of all (as far as I can tell) quality of life indices must be doing something right. I am confident that the students and I will get a lot out of this trip.
Ps - Danish is a ridiculously difficult language to learn. So not Romantic (in the Italian/Spanish sense)! I hope to pick up a few terms other than hello, thanks, excuse me, receipt, and goodbye before I return. :)
